Psychology Student Placement Co-ordinator, Grade 3 – Psychology Clinical Education Team (0.6 FTE)
Bring your passion for psychology education, your ability to build strong relationships and your practical approach to problem-solving to the Monash Health Psychology Clinical Education Team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior psychologist to play a key role in shaping the placement experience for the next generation of psychologists. Working across Monash Health’s diverse psychology services, you’ll build relationships with clinicians, students and tertiary education providers to develop and facilitate meaningful postgraduate psychology placement opportunities.
Working as part of an enthusiastic and supportive clinical education team, you’ll have the opportunity to use your expertise, creativity and problem-solving skills to help students and supervisors navigate placements successfully. This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys connecting with people, finding practical solutions and seeing the positive impact of a well-supported placement.
The role is offered at 0.6 FTE as part of a job share arrangement, providing the opportunity to contribute to a rewarding area of psychology education while working collaboratively with an experienced team.
In this role you will be required to:
- Coordinate and oversee psychology student placements across Monash Health, working collaboratively with students, supervisors, services and tertiary education providers.
- Create a seamless placement experience by coordinating paperwork, onboarding, orientation, placement reviews and other key requirements.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify and develop placement opportunities across a diverse range of psychology services.
- Evaluate clinical placements, collect and analyse data, and contribute to reporting and continuous improvement activities.
- Support students throughout their placement experience, including providing primary and/or secondary supervision on occasion.
- Contribute to initiatives that strengthen the capability of supervisors and mentors across the Psychology Student Placement Program.
The Monash Health Psychology Student Placement Program
The Monash Health Psychology Student Placement Program is a well-established and valued component of the broader Psychology Clinical Education Team.
The program provides postgraduate psychology students with the opportunity to experience psychology practice within Victoria’s largest and most comprehensive health service, while developing their clinical skills and professional identity through supported, supervised practice.
You’ll play an important role in connecting students with diverse clinical experiences and helping create positive, meaningful placement opportunities. Through your work, you’ll contribute to developing the future psychology workforce while supporting our services to grow their capability as educators and supervisors.
A Day in the Life:
No two days are quite the same. You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Support and guide students and psychologists to achieve successful placement experiences.
- Work as part of a broader network of clinical educators across Allied Health.
- Meet with stakeholders across Monash Health to understand service needs and identify placement opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with tertiary education organisations.
- Coordinate and contribute to education and development opportunities for psychology mentors and supervisors.
- Problem-solve the practical challenges that arise throughout the placement lifecycle.
- Use your initiative to identify opportunities to improve the student and supervisor experience.
About You
You’re a passionate and experienced psychologist who enjoys working with people, building relationships and creating opportunities for others to learn and grow.

What you need:
- Current General Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA, including an area of endorsement.
- A minimum of five years’ experience working in Psychology at a minimum P2 (or equivalent) level.
- Current supervisor endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) for Registrar Supervision (primary and secondary) and Higher Degree supervision.
