Strata & Construction Lawyer

Our client is a highly regarded commercial law firm with a strong presence in the Sydney market. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lawyer or Senior Associate with 6+ years PQE to join its established Strata & Construction team.
This is a broad and varied role offering exposure across all facets of strata and construction law, including strata disputes, strata renewal matters, building defects, construction contracts and litigation.
You will work closely with experienced Partners and senior lawyers who are well connected within the strata, construction and remedial building sectors, providing exposure to significant matters and evolving industry reforms.
The Role
- Strata disputes and management issues
- Strata renewal matters and proceedings
- Building and construction disputes
- Building defect litigation involving strata buildings
- Construction and building contracts
- Front-end contract preparation and advice
- Preparing legal advice and conducting complex legal research
- Preparing and collating evidence for litigation across various jurisdictions
- Contract disputes
- Land and Environment Court proceedings relating to strata renewal
- Advising on remedial building works, including matters arising under the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020
- Working closely with Partners on complex strata and construction matters
The breadth of the practice provides an excellent opportunity to develop expertise across both front-end construction work and back-end disputes and litigation.
About You
- Approximately 6+ years PQE
- Experience in construction law, strata law and/or commercial litigation
- Strong technical and drafting skills
- Experience managing a busy file load
- The ability to work with a good level of autonomy
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- A collaborative and team-focused approach
- An interest in developing deeper expertise across strata and construction law
