Seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a State Government Department South of the River

Your new company
An exciting opportunity is available to join a large WA State Government department as part of a high priority payroll compliance and leave audit project. Working within a supportive team environment, you will play a key role in reviewing employee leave records, interpreting payroll information and ensuring the accuracy of payroll related data. This is a fast-paced project with full training and support provided.

Your new role
Review and audit employee leave records and entitlements Gather, analyse and reconcile information from multiple sources
Maintain and update personnel and payroll records within HRMIS systems
Process payroll documentation, leave applications, allowances and employment changes
Review reports and identify discrepancies requiring investigation
Interpret awards, agreements and employment conditions
Assist with payroll enquiries and provide administrative support
Contribute to a high volume project environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance

What you'll need to succeed
Experience in payroll, finance, auditing or a related administrative environment Strong attention to detail and ability to manage repetitive high volume tasks
Advanced data entry and computer skills, including confidence using Excel spreadsheets
Experience gathering, analysing and collating information from multiple sources
Strong critical thinking and investigative skills
Ability to prioritise workloads and meet strict deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Experience using HRMIS or payroll systems
Ability to interpret and apply awards, agreements and payroll related legislation
Previous experience with leave audits, payroll compliance activities or employee entitlements will be highly regarded.
Knowledge of industrial awards, agreements and leave provisions is desirable
Ability to obtain a satisfactory National Police Clearance
