Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will join a small team to process for a medium-sized business on a 12-month contract.Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, processing and validating fortnightly and monthly payrolls, including timesheets, adjustments, terminations and redundancies
- Processing complex payroll transactions, including parental leave, superannuation, leave reconciliations and payroll adjustments
- Interpreting and applying relevant legislation, Enterprise Agreements and internal policies
- Maintaining accurate payroll and HRIS data, employee records and reporting
- Investigating payroll discrepancies and resolving escalated employee queries
- Preparing payroll reconciliations and reports for management, Finance, audits, regulatory requirements and year-end processing
- Supporting payroll audits, compliance reviews and payroll controls
- Liaising with People, Finance, Technology, external providers and payroll vendors
- Supporting payroll and HRIS testing, system upgrades and configuration changes
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll accuracy, efficiency and the employee experience
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will have strong end-to-end payroll experience within a complex environment. Hands-on experience using SAP SuccessFactors is essential for this role.You will also bring:
- Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation and superannuation
- Experience interpreting Enterprise Agreements and Awards
- Strong payroll reconciliation, reporting and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and customer service skills
- A collaborative, adaptable and continuous improvement-focused
