We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a community-based organisation with SCHADs.
Your new company
Join a well-established not-for-profit organisation providing essential services to the community. With a supportive and values-driven culture, the organisation is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to take ownership of its payroll function while also providing specialist advice around award interpretation and payroll processes.
Your new role
Working autonomously across the payroll function, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of a fortnightly payroll for approximately 90 employees.A key part of this role will be acting as the SCHADS Award subject matter expert, helping the wider business understand and correctly apply award conditions.Your responsibilities will include:
- End-to-end processing of a fortnightly payroll for approximately 90 employees
- Applying and interpreting the SCHADS Award
- Providing advice to managers and internal stakeholders around award conditions and payroll matters
- Educating the business on the correct application of award provisions
- Processing new starters, terminations, employee changes, leave and payroll adjustments
- Payroll reconciliations and reporting
- Reviewing current payroll processes and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Supporting payroll system implementation and process changes
- Assisting with the implementation of Employment Hero where required
What you'll need to succeed
Essential:
- Strong, practical knowledge of the SCHADS Award
- Demonstrated experience interpreting award conditions within payroll
- End-to-end Australian payroll processing experience
- Ability to confidently advise and educate stakeholders on award interpretation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
Highly desirable:
- Previous Employment Hero implementation experience
- Alternatively, experience implementing or transitioning to another payroll system
- Previous payroll experience within the not-for-profit, community services, disability or similar sectors
