The opportunity
This is an influential operational leadership opportunity to lead Child and Family Services across the West Kimberley, translating strategy into high-quality service delivery and better outcomes for children, young people and their families.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will provide leadership across service delivery, workforce performance, financial sustainability, quality, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.
The Operations Manager will:
- Lead service delivery and performance, translating strategy into clear operational priorities and measurable outcomes across programs and services.
- Drive quality, safeguarding and therapeutic practice, ensuring services meet regulatory requirements and deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed and child-centred care.
- Build high-performing teams, coaching and developing leaders while strengthening accountability, engagement, capability and workforce sustainability.
- Own operational performance, using financial, workforce and service data to improve budgets, rostering, risk management and overall service outcomes.
About you
You will be an experienced operational leader who understands the complexity of delivering services to vulnerable children and young people and can balance quality care with strong operational, financial and regulatory performance.
You will bring:
- Proven leadership experience within child protection, out-of-home care (OOHC), permanent care and support (PSP) or a closely aligned service environment
- A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, human services or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of therapeutic, trauma-informed and child-centred practice
- Demonstrated capability across people leadership, service performance, budgets, compliance, safeguarding and risk
- The confidence to manage complex stakeholder relationships and provide calm, decisive leadership during critical incidents
- A strong commitment to culturally responsive and safe services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families.
