- Step into planning for a fast-growing renewables fleet
- Own-and-operate IPP with real development pathways
- Opportunity to break into renewables from adjecent industries
The Company
Our client is a leading independent power producer with a large and growing portfolio of solar farms and battery energy storage systems across Australia, backed by a wider Asia-Pacific group. They don’t build and sell. They develop, build, own and operate, which means they care about keeping their assets running well for decades, and they invest in the people who make that happen.
The Opportunity
If you’re a maintenance planner looking to move into renewables, or someone with a few years on the tools or in site operations who’s ready to make the step into planning, this is a great place to do it.
Based in Brisbane and working alongside the Asset Management Lead, you’ll help shape how maintenance is planned across a fleet of operating solar and BESS sites. You’ll build the plans and schedules that keep these assets performing, work out how to fit the right work into outage windows, and partner with site teams and contractors to make sure plans actually work in the real world.
It’s a role where you’ll learn a lot. You’ll get exposure to asset lifecycle planning, see how new sites move from construction into operation, and work with the latest battery and solar technology. There’s also plenty of room to bring your own ideas, particularly around better use of data, smarter scheduling and digital maintenance tools.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building annual, quarterly and rolling maintenance plans for solar and battery sites
- Turning longer-term asset strategies into practical schedules that site teams can deliver
- Working with Operations to plan outages and get the most out of every maintenance window
- Partnering with the projects team as new sites come online, so warranty items, defects and handover details are built into the plan from day one
- Keeping the maintenance system accurate and useful, from asset registers through to work orders and backlog
- Looking at maintenance and performance data to spot trends and find better ways of working
- Being the go-to contact for contractors, OEMs and site teams on what needs doing, when and how
About You
- A trade, engineering or technical qualification
- Some experience in maintenance planning, scheduling or site operations, whether that’s two years or five, in power generation, renewables, mining, utilities or another asset-heavy industry
- A good understanding of preventive and condition-based maintenance
- Comfortable working with a maintenance system such as SAP PM, Maximo or similar (or keen to learn one quickly)
- Organised, detail-focused and good at bringing people together to get work done
- Brisbane-based, or willing to relocate, with full Australian working rights
Solar or BESS experience is a bonus, not a requirement. If you’ve got a planning mindset and want to build a career in renewables, we’d love to hear from you.
