About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is available within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network for a passionate and skilled Clinical Nurse – Mental Health to deliver culturally responsive, holistic care to people experiencing mental health conditions.    

In this predominantly clinical role, you will provide comprehensive and holistic mental health nursing care that supports Aboriginal clients of Watto Purrunna's expanding Social and Emotional Wellbeing team. Working in partnership with clients, families, multidisciplinary teams and community organisations, you will deliver thoughtful, person‑centred care that respects culture, identity and lived experience. 

Your day‑to‑day practice will include conducting assessments, managing low to medium mental health risks, de‑escalating situations, and developing and implementing individualised care plans aligned with each client’s goals. In collaboration with team members, you will deliver targeted therapeutic interventions and produce referrals that support recovery beyond the clinical setting.

Education and advocacy are central to this role. You will promote mental wellbeing, reduce stigma, and support clients, families and communities to better understand mental health. You will also contribute to identifying and addressing systemic barriers to care, helping improve access and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. 

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practicing certificate. You must also hold a qualification in Mental Health practice or be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course of study.
