APS6 Senior Procurement Officer
Location: Canberra ACT or Brisbane QLD
Employment Type: Non-ongoing (6 months) with possibility of extension
Commencement: 29 October 2026
Completion: 26 April 2027
Security Requirement: Baseline Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
Salary: $104,898 - $119,116 plus 15.4% superannuation
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement activities from planning through to contract establishment and closure.
- Provide procurement advice and support to business areas.
- Assist with tender documentation, evaluation processes, and contract negotiations.
- Support procurement governance, probity, and quality assurance activities.
- Prepare and maintain procurement documentation and records.
- Contribute to procurement risk management and compliance activities.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and guide stakeholders through procurement processes and requirements.
- Contribute to team objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Skills:
- Experience in procurement, contract management, or a related administrative environment.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles and practices.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Effective organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team and provide guidance to others.
Highly Regarded Skills:
- Experience working within a Federal Government environment.
- Knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs).
- Certificate IV in Procurement and Contract Management or similar qualification.
- Experience supporting complex procurement and tender processes
