Costco Perth Airport - PT/FT Maintenance Assistant
KEY POINTS WE FOUND
- Provide janitorial services and general maintenance of warehouse facilities.
- Assist with installing and repairing building displays and fixtures.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the warehouse.
Min. 24hrs p/wk. Must be available 5 days p/wk incl w/ends. Rotating roster, scheduled hours vary between 5:00AM to 10:30PM Weekend penalties, loading premiums and additional benefits.
Job Duties/Essential Functions - Provides janitorial services and general maintenance/repairs of warehouse facilities and surrounding grounds.
- Cleans warehouse floors, offices, break rooms, and restrooms
- Follows departmental standards for cleanliness and performance of duties
- Restocks supplies
- Empties trash from designated areas throughout the warehouse
- Pulls merchandise slip sheets and loose cardboard from sales floor
- Operates garbage compactor and cardboard baler
- Checks daily schedule for assigned routine tasks and maintenance repair jobs
- Paints, replaces bulbs, maintains equipment, and performs routine repairs throughout the warehouse
- Assists with installing and repairing building displays and fixtures
- Purchases supplies and parts needed for projects
- Maintains grounds outside warehouse including blowing leaves, picking up litter and building maintenance
- Follows proper Maintenance and general safety and security procedures, wearing safety goggles when using compactor and baler and product disposal
- Responds quickly to and cleans up spills
- Assists in other areas of the warehouse as necessary
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors.
Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
- Hand tools, pressure washer, floor scrubber, leaf blower, power tools, trash compactor, cardboard baler and machinery throughout the warehouse, mop wringer and other miscellaneous cleaning equipment
Non-Essential Functions
- Assists other departments when applicable and possibly perform duties (cross-train) in other departments of the warehouse, where applicable/necessary.
- Cash register, table top/hand-held scanners, carts, flatbeds
Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess):
- Education/Training: None
- Licenses/Certifications: None
- Experience/Skills: Janitorial, maintenance, or comparable experience.
Other specific requirements:
- Unrestricted working conditions in Australia
- All forms of valid identification
