Job Description
Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church, established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading and most respected co-educational independent schools. With an enrolment of 3,400 students from ECLC to Year 12, it comprises three metropolitan campuses in Melbourne, at St Kilda Road, Glen Waverley and Elsternwick, outdoor education sites at Chum Creek, Mallana and Lochend, and a Year 9 residential campus at Clunes.
Applications are invited from innovating and engaging Primary Music teachers (Prep - Year 4) for a part-time (0.62 FTE), permanant position commencing in January 2027. This position is based at our St Kilda Road Junior School Campus.
We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about Music education and committed to creating an engaging, sequential and developmentally appropriate learning program for Junior School students. The successful applicant will use contemporary, innovative and inquiry-based teaching approaches to provide a range of practical, vocal, instrumental, movement, listening, composing and music technology experiences that foster creativity, curiosity and a love of Music.
The successful applicant will demonstrate high-level classroom teaching skills, including the ability to assess and respond to diverse learning needs, and will contribute positively to the broader Arts and performance program of the College. The capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues in the development of curriculum and resources, and to support choirs, ensembles, productions, concerts and other performance opportunities, is essential.
