You will set clear priorities, coach and develop technicians, strengthen team capability and ensure planned and unplanned maintenance and calibration activities are completed safely, on time and to the quality standards expected in a regulated manufacturing environment.

You will remain close to the operation and provide leadership during technical or operational issues when required, while maintaining a clear focus on team performance, employee development, continuous improvement and stakeholder support.

  • Set clear team expectations and key performance indicators in collaboration with the Manufacturing Support Manager, and provide regular feedback on performance
  • Coach, mentor and develop technicians, supporting skills transfer, cross-training, onboarding and individual growth
  • Coordinate planned and unplanned maintenance and calibration activities to minimise disruption and support manufacturing output
  • Provide visible leadership during equipment or operational issues, helping the team assess priorities, resolve complex problems and implement sustainable solutions
  • Ensure work is completed in line with Cochlear quality systems, safety requirements and relevant procedures
  • Build effective relationships with manufacturing, engineering and other stakeholders, providing clear updates on team performance, priorities, risks and issues
  • Lead and support continuous improvement, operational excellence and cost-saving initiatives across maintenance and calibration activities
  • Support the development of team capability tools, including skills matrices and training plans
  • Coordinate external calibration activities and work effectively with vendors and service providers
  • Represent the function during audits and support the ongoing improvement of maintenance and calibration processes
