About the Role
Our client, a leading Australian general insurer, is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a major Regulatory, AI and Digital project within its Guidewire ClaimCenter program. The project is modernising claims processing across Home, Landlord and Motor lines of business. Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements elicitation and documentation with Claims Operations, business SMEs and Business Owners
- Plan and facilitate workshops with business stakeholders, Guidewire technical leads and architects to elicit, validate and refine requirements
- Produce and maintain Business Requirements and the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), making sure requirements trace through to solution design
- Map current-state claims processes and define future-state operating models within ClaimCenter
- Conduct impact assessments across people, process, systems, data, risk and controls
- Translate business rules, operational workflows and regulatory obligations into clear specifications for the delivery team
- Work with Compliance and Risk stakeholders early so that regulatory obligations are captured accurately and sign-off milestones are met
- Support UAT planning, execution and triage, and contribute to go-live readiness, handover and post-implementation review
Essential Skills & Experience
- 10+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst in insurance or financial services, delivering complex end-to-end projects in Agile and Waterfall environments
- Strong working knowledge of the claims lifecycle, from first notice of loss (FNOL) through to settlement and closure
- Familiarity with the Australian general insurance regulatory environment (ASIC, APRA, Insurance Contracts Act)
- Proven capability across core BA deliverables: impact assessments, root cause analysis, process mapping, requirements documentation and UAT support
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence, challenge and work through competing priorities at all levels
- Ability to own a workstream with a high degree of autonomy
Desirable Experience
- Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter (hands-on delivery a bonus); exposure to PolicyCenter or BillingCenter
- A background in insurance operations, including working directly with claims teams
- Experience with Home, Motor, or Landlord insurance products
- CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or Guidewire certification
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps, Visio, or Lucidchart
