Training Coordinator - Electrical

This 12-month contract offers the opportunity to shape the capability, safety, and development of electrical professionals across a large operational workforce. Based on the Gold Coast, you will play a key role in driving technical excellence, workforce readiness, and continuous improvement across electrical and intelligent transport systems operations.
Your new role
As the Electrical Capability Coordinator (ITS & Electrical), you will lead training, competency and capability initiatives across electrical, ITS and civil electrical disciplines. Working closely with technical teams, supervisors, apprentices and project leaders, you will help ensure employees have the skills, knowledge and qualifications needed to deliver safe, compliant and high-quality outcomes.This role offers a rare opportunity to combine your electrical trade background with coaching, mentoring and workforce development responsibilities.Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical training and competency programs across operational teams.
• Maintain training records, competency frameworks and assessment evidence.
• Support the delivery and ongoing improvement of technical learning programs.
• Provide coaching and technical guidance to apprentices, trainees and experienced electrical workers.
• Partner with supervisors and project leaders to identify capability gaps and development opportunities.
• Contribute to succession planning and specialist workforce development initiatives.
• Support continuous improvement across training pathways, technical resources and capability frameworks.
• Promote safe work practices and compliance with electrical standards and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

• Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence as an Electrical Mechanic.
• Current C Class Driver Licence.
• Demonstrated experience within electrical construction, maintenance, infrastructure or related environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or developing technical capability within a workforce.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate training and competency records.

Highly regarded:

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent.
• Experience delivering electrical safety training.
• Experience conducting audits, investigations or compliance activities.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and best practice.
