Your new role
An opportunity is available for a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join a busy workshop servicing heavy vehicles and transport equipment throughout the Leongatha region.This is a hands-on role offering a mix of workshop and field service work, attending both scheduled maintenance and emergency breakdowns on the road and at customer sites, including farms.

Key responsibilities include:

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles and diesel-powered equipment
• Fault-finding, diagnostics and repair work
• Attending breakdowns across regional areas and customer sites
• Conducting preventative maintenance and safety inspections
• Delivering high-quality customer service
• Participating in a shared 24/7 on-call roster, approximately once per month

Rotating shifts include:

• 5:00am to 1:00pm
• 7:00am to 3:00pm
• 10:00pm to 6:00am (on call-outs for the week)

This role offers significant overtime opportunities, with mechanics regularly working 10-12 hour days.

What you'll need to succeed

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or similar
• Experience working on heavy vehicles, trucks and diesel equipment
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and manage breakdown situations
• Current driving licence
• Commitment to safety
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and participate in an on-call roster
