An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Accounting Officer to join a busy State Government finance team. Working within Accounting Operations, you will play a key role in supporting accounts payable and receivable functions while contributing to the delivery of financial services across the organisation.
Your new role
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Maintain supplier and customer records and verify account information.
- Complete payment runs and support the full accounts payable process.
- Perform GST compliance and financial coding checks.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial activities, including accruals.
- Respond to financial enquiries, investigate discrepancies and provide advice to stakeholders.
- Prepare reports, maintain registers and support accounting procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end accounts payable processes.
- Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret and apply financial policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Previous State Government or public sector experience will be highly regarded.
- National Police Clearance or ability to obtain one.
