Leading Hand + Resource Recovery Attendant
The Role:
- Ensuring that day-to-day operations of the Resource Recovery Centre are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with regulatory and service standards.
- Oversee on-the-ground recovery and disposal processes, ensuring adherence to site policies and procedures
- Lead the daily coordination and delivery of waste disposal, resource recovery, and recycling activities, ensuring services are safe, efficient, and aligned to the City’s environmental and operational goals.
- Support the Supervisor Resource Recovery by overseeing frontline work, assisting with team direction
- Promote and model safe work practices by planning tasks effectively
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the team by providing daily supervision, task allocation, and coordination of the Resource Recovery team.
- Supporting a customer-focused approach to recycling operations
- Review operational performance data and assist in resolving any service delays
- Maintain a safe and compliant working environment for staff and the public by ensuring adherence to WHS procedures and environmental controls.
- Equipment, plant and infrastructure operation and daily management
Criteria:
- White card
- Experience in the leadership of staff
- Minimum of 6 months experience in Similar role (Highly desirable)
- Experience in landfill and recycling facility operations.
- Experience in the safe operation and user-maintenance of landfill equipment and machinery
- Knowledge of Work Health and Safety
- Considerable community engagement and driving customer service outcomes with proven experience of effective management of service levels.
- Valid driver’s licence (HR highly desirable)
- Current National Police Clearance (Required – Less than 3 months old)
- Physically fit & Able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
