A leading organisation within the Defence sector is seeking a Cyber Engineering Services professional to support a high-profile capability program. Working within a complex and highly regulated environment, you will play a key role in ensuring cybersecurity, compliance, and assurance activities are delivered to the highest standard while supporting emerging technologies and critical Defence initiatives.
Your new role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing security controls against the Information Security Manual (ISM), Essential Eight, NIST and other recognised frameworks.
- Conducting security assessments, gap analyses, compliance reviews and assurance activities.
- Developing and maintaining accreditation documentation, risk assessments, reports and supporting artefacts.
- Working closely with engineering teams, project stakeholders and external vendors to gather evidence and ensure compliance requirements are met.
- Presenting technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Supporting security accreditation and cyberworthiness activities within a Defence environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Experience in Cybersecurity, Cyber Assurance, GRC, Information Assurance, Accreditation or a similar discipline.
- Strong understanding of the ISM, Essential Eight, NIST or comparable security frameworks.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, compliance reviews and security assurance activities.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into a clear business language.
- Experience preparing accreditation documentation and compliance artefacts.
- An active NV1 Security Clearance (or higher).
Highly regarded experience includes:
- Defence or Government environments.
- Network security, firewalls and segmentation.
- System hardening across Windows or Linux platforms.
- Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC).
- Cryptography and key management.
- Incident detection and response.
