About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join our client’s team. This role will be responsible for supporting project cost management, forecasting, reporting and financial controls across a portfolio of projects.
Role Responsibilties:
- Complete monthly accrual processes within Finance deadlines
- Complete month-end forecasting and reporting within required deadlines
- Prepare and update financial variance reports and MPR reporting
- Conduct regular meetings with Project Managers to obtain the latest information on accruals, trends and forecasts
- Analyse monthly cost variances and provide clear explanations for movements and trends
- Maintain monthly Cost Books and ensure they are completed and saved in SharePoint
- Create and facilitate PRs and POs for responsible projects and areas
- Support Project Managers with the preparation and submission of AFEs to ensure timely funding release
- Assist with ACP, CSRA and PER processes as required
- Manage PO and project closures to support good financial housekeeping and project capitalisation
- Maintain and update AFE and WBS registers as new AFEs progress
- Ensure a high level of data accuracy across all financial and project reporting
About You:
- Previous experience in a Cost Controller, Project Cost Controller, Project Accountant or similar role
- Strong experience with project cost control, forecasting and financial reporting
- Experience working closely with Project Managers and Finance teams
- Strong understanding of accruals, forecasting and variance analysis
- Experience with purchase orders, project closures and financial controls
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Proficient with Excel and financial/project reporting systems
- Experience working with AFE and WBS processes would be highly regarded
- Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with project and finance stakeholders
