About Hard Coffee Noosa
Hard Coffee Noosa is an established hospitality venue located in the heart of Noosa Heads. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.
About the Role
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing, seasoning and cooking a variety of dishes in accordance with our menu, recipes and quality standards. You will work closely with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver consistent, high-quality meals during service.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Examining ingredients and food products to ensure freshness, quality and suitability for preparation and cooking;
- Preparing ingredients and cooking menu items using appropriate cookery methods, recipes and portion specifications;
- Seasoning food during preparation and cooking to achieve consistent flavour and quality;
- Operating ovens, grills and other commercial cooking equipment and regulating cooking temperatures as required;
- Monitoring food throughout the cooking process to ensure appropriate quality, consistency and presentation;
- Portioning cooked food, plating dishes and adding accompaniments in accordance with presentation standards;
- Ensuring dishes accommodate special dietary requirements where required;
- Receiving, storing and rotating food products appropriately, including maintaining food in temperature-controlled storage facilities;
- Following food safety, hygiene, cleaning and safe food-handling procedures throughout all stages of food preparation and service;
- Monitoring ingredient levels and assisting with estimating food and preparation requirements for service;
- Working collaboratively with other staff to ensure efficient service.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- An AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery with relevant on-the-job training, Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Kitchen Management, or an equivalent relevant qualification;
- Alternatively, at least three years of relevant commercial cooking experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications;
- Practical experience preparing and cooking food in a commercial café, restaurant or similar hospitality environment;
- Sound knowledge of food preparation, commercial cookery techniques and kitchen operations;
- Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, safe food handling, storage and stock rotation requirements;
- Ability to prepare and cook a variety of menu items consistently to established quality and presentation standards;
- Ability to accommodate special dietary requirements;
- Ability to work effectively and communicate well as part of a kitchen and hospitality team; and
- A reliable, organised and adaptable approach to work.
This is a full-time position based in Noosa Heads, Queensland, with a salary of $75,000 – $80,000 per annum plus superannuation, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
