The Service 

KU Wickham is a heritage-listed preschool located just minutes from Newcastle CBD. Established over 70 years ago as Newcastle’s first free Kindergarten, it continues to operate from its historic 1889 Italianate building, thoughtfully renovated to blend its original charm with modern learning spaces. Set among parklands, sporting facilities and a community garden, the service offers children a unique learning environment with beautiful natural play spaces and strong community connections. The service is open 50 weeks of the year and offers places for 3–5-year-olds. 
 

The Role

Permanent, part-time position working 10:30am-5:00pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

This is a great opportunity for an educator who values strong relationships with children and families, is keen to continue developing their skills, and would like to be part of a passionate, capable and dedicated team. 

You would also have access to additional shifts/support hours or days through our KUCas team if interested.

Candidates Require

  • Australian working rights
  • A current and valid NSW Working with Children Check
  • An ACECQA recognised Certificate III qualification
  • A National Child Safety Training Certificate
  • A completed training in Child Protection (CHCPRT025) and an understanding of the legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • Working knowledge of  the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011)
