Carpenter – Full-Time | Stepney, SA
V & V GROUP PTY LTD is looking for a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our growing team in Stepney, SA. This is a permanent full-time role working across a variety of building projects.
Salary: $79,423 – $99,423 per annum + superannuation (depending on experience)
What you’ll be doing
- Working from drawings and job specifications to plan each task and work out the materials needed
- Setting out and building wall, floor and roof framing, including trusses and bracing
- Building and stripping formwork for slabs, footings and other concrete work
- Hanging doors and fitting windows, stairs and balustrades
- Laying flooring and fixing linings, cladding, eaves, architraves and skirting boards
- Installing cabinetry, wardrobes and other pre-made joinery
- Carrying out repairs, alterations and renovation work on existing buildings
- Checking that all work is level, square and finished to a high standard
- Following site safety procedures and keeping tools and work areas in good order
- Working with site supervisors and other trades to keep jobs on schedule, and helping apprentices when needed
What we’re looking for
- Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent qualification, or at least 3 years of experience working as a carpenter
- At least 1 year of hands-on carpentry experience in the building industry
- White Card (construction induction)
- Confidence reading plans and using carpentry hand and power tools safely
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail and a team-player attitude
