Permanent | Even‑time 7:7 Roster
Protech is seeking experienced Open Cut Mining Operators to join our client at Byerwen Mine, located in Queensland’s resource‑rich Bowen Basin, producing premium hard coking coal.
About the Role
These are permanent, full‑time positions from commencement, offering excellent conditions and long‑term security at a mine with a strong future.
POSITIONS AVAILABLE (Experienced):
- Haul Truck operators – $55.17 – $62.85 p/h
- All Rounder – $60.31 – $67.00 p/h
- Excavator operators – $68.02 – $75.00 p/h

Key Responsibilities
- Safe and efficient operation of heavy mobile plant equipment
- Working collaboratively within the production team and wider site
- Maintaining high safety, quality and productivity standards
- Compliance with all site systems, procedures and safety requirements
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 18 months experience in open‑cut production mining
- Competency on relevant mining equipment
- Current QLD Driver Licence
- Training Transcript signed by SSE or SSE Delegate
- Standard 11 (Statement of Attainment)
- Ability to:
- Provide a current health assessment
- Pass pre‑employment medical and D&A testing
- Proof of Australian working rights
- Current National Police Check
- Two recent, contactable references
