Board Member

We are seeking two experienced, values-driven leaders to join our Board of Directors and contribute to the next chapter of Richmind WA's growth, sustainability and impact.

As a Board director, you will work alongside fellow Board members and the Executive Team to provide strategic oversight, strong governance and stewardship. You will help ensure we continue to deliver safe, effective and high-quality mental health services while supporting positive outcomes for consumers, carers, families and communities across Western Australia.

Who We Are Seeking

Following a recent review of Board capability and future needs, we are seeking candidates who can strengthen the Board's collective expertise through experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Mental health clinical leadership
• Care governance, quality and safety
• Health or community services leadership
• Workforce leadership and organisational capability
• Large-scale organisational transformation and change

We particularly encourage applications from:

• Aboriginal leaders
• People with lived experience as a consumer, family member or carer
• Individuals who bring diverse perspectives and lived experiences

Essential Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate:

• Significant executive, professional, governance or leadership experience
• Strong strategic thinking and business judgement
• Financial literacy and an understanding of governance, risk and compliance
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A commitment to ethical leadership and community impact
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion and culturally safe practice
• Ability to work collaboratively and constructively as a member of a high-performing Board
• Demonstrated alignment with Richmind WA's values and a genuine commitment to improving mental health and wellbeing outcomes for Western Australians
• The courage to contribute independent thinking, ask thoughtful questions, and constructively challenge ideas in support of good governance and better outcomes
• Completion of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) course or an equivalent governance qualification (desirable)

Time Commitment

Board members are expected to participate in:

• Six Board meetings per year
• At least one Board Committee (typically four meetings per year)
• An annual Board and Executive strategy workshop
• Ongoing governance education and development activities
• A minimum of two site visits each year and participation in Richmind WA events
