Azure Devops Engineer- AKS- Major Bank

A major bank is seeking an Azure DevOps Engineer with strong AKS expertise to join a customer reliability engineering team on a 12-month contract.Role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne- 2 days a week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer, automate and support Azure cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on AKS.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that enable reliable, repeatable and secure delivery.
• Build and enhance Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Contribute to customer reliability engineering outcomes, improving resilience, availability and performance.
• Work closely with platform, engineering and reliability teams to uplift automation and operational maturity.
• Apply strong engineering practices to solve platform challenges, avoiding manual or reactive operations where automation is possible.

Key Skills / Experience

• Strong hands-on Azure cloud engineering experience.
• Deep AKS experience, including platform build, administration, troubleshooting and optimisation.
• Solid automation and engineering capability across cloud infrastructure environments.
• Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Experience working in an SRE, reliability engineering or platform engineering environment is highly desirable.
• Background in large enterprise environments; experience within a top-tier banking or financial services environment will be highly regarded.
• A practical engineering mindset
