Two new roles have been created in this team, funded through the most recent Federal Budget, to meet a growing program of work.

The Opportunity

Joining the Green Industries Section as an APS6 Grants Officer, you’ll be responsible for overseeing grant and program initiatives under the Singapore-Australia Green Economy Agreement (GEA).

This team drives whole-of-government coordination across energy transition, research and innovation, standards and skills policy to support delivery of bilateral commitments and strengthen Australia’s positioning in COP31 negotiations and Singapore’s ASEAN Chair year in 2027.

The APS6 Program Officer sits at the centre of a growing bilateral program, with a new grant funding round recently announced.

You’ll have exposure to:

  • Providing high-quality advice, briefs, Cabinet materials and ministerial correspondence on green economy cooperation as required
  • Identifying risks, opportunities and emerging trends in the bilateral green economy and energy transition agenda
  • Working with Singapore and other Australian Government agencies to develop GEA-related cooperation with regional partners

  • Strong understanding in the Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles 2024 (GGRPs), and grant opportunity guidelines
  • Sound judgement, initiative and a proven track record of building strong relationships
  • The ability to manage a busy workload, set priorities and work collaboratively within a small team

A current NV1 security clearance is mandatory to be considered.

Additionally, it is desirable for you to have:
