AO7 Principal Finance Officer

Public Sector People is partnering with a Queensland State Government department to source an experienced AO7 Principal Finance Officer for a six-month contract engagement, supporting a major finance, procurement and governance improvement program.
Location: Brisbane CBD
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Hourly Rate: $88.29 per hour plus super
Your Role
This role is best suited to an experienced finance professional with a strong background in business process redesign and delivery of transformation programs. You'll play a key part in redesigning processes, coordinating delivery activities and guiding stakeholders through change across a broad program of finance and procurement initiatives.
Your Responsibilities
- Analyse and redesign finance and procurement business processes to improve efficiency, compliance and service delivery.
- Develop implementation plans, monitor progress and coordinate delivery activities to ensure delivery.
- Engage with stakeholders to communicate process changes, provide guidance and support adoption.
You'll support initiatives including a finance service transition, an On-Time Payment Policy rollout, increased corporate card utilisation, a new Financial Delegations Framework, finance audit remediation, and a Procurement Maturity Uplift program.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience in financial operations and implementing finance transformation initiatives.
- Experience in identifying process inefficiencies and delivering practical improvements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and communication skills.
- Ability to develop training materials, guidance documents and implementation plans.
- Experience working within complex organisational environments with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and project coordination skills.
