We have a position available in our busy retail farm supplies store. This is a varied and interesting role where no two days are the same.
You will be primarily office-based, handling administration, purchasing, accounts, inventory and customer service. However, you will also be involved in the day-to-day running of the store, including serving customers, unloading trucks, forklift work, moving and putting away stock, and helping to keep the workplace clean and organised.
We are looking for someone who is intelligent, conscientious and reliable, with excellent attention to detail and a positive attitude. You will need to be a people person who enjoys dealing with customers and suppliers, works well as part of a team and is comfortable taking direction and constructive feedback.

Daily Duties
Your daily duties will include, but will not be limited to:
Customer & Supplier Accounts
- Managing customer accounts and account enquiries
- Processing invoices, payments and account information
- Liaising with suppliers regarding orders, invoices and deliveries
- Following up outstanding account matters as required
Advertising & Marketing
- Preparing monthly specials flyers
- Creating and updating Facebook advertisements and promotions
- Assisting with general store advertising and promotional activities
- Ensuring pricing and promotional information is accurate and up to date
Purchasing & Inventory Control
- Ordering stock from suppliers
- Monitoring stock levels and identifying items that need to be reordered
- Entering and maintaining stock information
- Assisting with stocktake and inventory control
- Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies
Retail Sales & Customer Service
- Serving customers in-store
- Providing friendly and helpful customer service
- Assisting customers to find the products they need
- Preparing quotes and processing sales
- Answering customer enquiries and providing product information
- Processing sales through the point-of-sale system
Telephone & General Enquiries
- Answering incoming telephone calls
- Taking messages and directing enquiries to the appropriate person
- Assisting customers and suppliers with telephone enquiries
Warehouse & Stock Handling
- Unloading trucks and checking incoming deliveries
- Operating a forklift to move and put away stock
- Moving products around the store and warehouse
- Putting stock away in an organised and safe manner
- Assisting customers with loading purchases
- Maintaining safe and organised storage areas
General Store Duties
- Helping to keep the shop, office, warehouse and surrounding work areas clean and tidy
- Maintaining a professional and organised presentation of the store
- Assisting other team members with general tasks as required
- Following workplace health and safety procedures
- Undertaking other reasonable duties as required to assist with the smooth running of the business
What We Are Looking For
This role would suit someone who enjoys variety and being kept busy, rather than someone who wants to sit behind a desk all day.
The successful applicant will be someone who can confidently move between office administration, customer service and practical hands-on work throughout the day.
You will need to be comfortable working as part of a small team, where everyone helps out and gets involved in whatever needs doing.
Previous experience in retail, administration, accounts, purchasing, inventory control or farm supplies would be an advantage, but attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are equally important.
A forklift & truck licence would also be advantageous.
