Second Man Rigger 

$40–$45 per hour + overtime
LAFHA per day when applicable
TPG & Optus projects

Permanent | 38 hours per week + overtime

HRG is currently recruiting an experienced Second Man Rigger to join an established telecommunications delivery business working across major carrier network projects.

This is a permanent position based out of Yatala, with ongoing work across Optus and TPG programs and the opportunity to build further experience across 4G/5G deployment, upgrades and maintenance.

The role You’ll work as part of an experienced field crew delivering installation, upgrade and maintenance works across telecommunications towers and rooftop sites.

Your work will include:

  • Installing antennas, RRU/RRH equipment, feeders and hybrid cabling
  • Installing tower and pole structures, mounts and associated steelwork
  • Working from construction drawings, steelwork assemblies and plumbing diagrams
  • Earthing, labelling, cable termination and re-termination
  • Tower upgrades, maintenance and structural strengthening
  • Supporting fault finding and equipment rectification
  • PIM, Site Master and spectrum analyser testing
  • Fibre testing using fibrescope and light source equipment
  • Working across Optus, TPG and Telstra network environments
  • Exposure to Ericsson, Nokia and Huawei equipment

What we’re looking for You’ll already have practical telecommunications rigging experience and be comfortable working at height in active network environments.

Ideally you’ll hold:
✓ Australian Driver Licence
✓ White Card
✓ Working at Heights
✓ Tower Rescue / Rope Access
✓ First Aid & CPR
✓ RADHAZ Awareness
✓ High Risk Work Licence – Rigging/Dogging
✓ EWP ticket
✓ Relevant Optus, TPG and/or Telstra inductions

Experience working to carrier specifications, HSE requirements and telecommunications construction standards will be highly regarded.
